Вот, что пишут об этом событии сами Карина и Катрина:

A pop-up ‘Dacha’ presenting a modern vision of foods from Russia and former Soviet Union cultures

Russian Revels, London-based designers of chic Slavic dining experiences, are joining forces with the Real Food Market, to bring the flavours of former Soviet Union cultures to London’s iconic South Bank.

Russian Revels have been challenging the image of Russian and Eastern European food in the capital through their immersive pop-ups (including ‘The spies came in from the cold…’, ‘Anna Karenina’s feast’, ‘The Futurist dinner’). They combine traditions of their mothers with cosmopolitan ingredients and humour.

A gorgeous tent, set within the Real Food Market, will evoke the atmosphere of a ‘Dacha’. Russian Revels will put on a welcoming spread of zakuski (Slavic tapas) including hot Russian oladushki (plump little pancakes) and invite a

selection of artisanal local producers: ‘Bio-tiful’, organic cultured milks; breads and pastries from the ‘Karaway Bakery’ of Lithuanian-Belorussian tradition; lush wine from the ‘Georgian Wine Society’ and Ukrainian wine and vodka from the ‘Kolonist’.

Working with Real Food Festivals, ‘Dacha’ will be a special one-off feature, bringing a distinct and unique element to the Real Food Market.

Over the weekend visitors will also be able to experience the charm of Dacha posidelki (gatherings, chit-chats) with 20 minute tastings of the food and drink on display accompanied by stories from the producers.

Food has never fed the belly alone…

Russian Revels are Katrina Kollegaeva, a food anthropologist, born in Soviet Estonia to a Crimean father and Ukrainian mother, and Karina Baldry, a Muscovite who published the acclaimed ‘Russia on a Plate’.
